If I could give this company less than a 1 start rating, I would.
They were by far the most competitve, price-wise, when we was looking for an international moving company, but that was how they lured us in...
Firstly we were asked to pay a deposit to secure the date - apparently that is not a legal requirement.
Secondly they told us, once we had accepted the quote, that it did not include shipment of our belongings from our home to their warehouse in Anjou. We were then asked to pay an additional $1500 CAD vial email - no bill was ever given to us and the quote was not amended.
On the day of pick up, we were asked to settle the outstanding amount in full, which we did.
We were given a shipping date out of Montreal to France as well as an estimated date of delivery of our belongings (8-12 weeks). The estimated delivery date came and went and no goods arrived so we contacted the company only to be told that there had been strikes at the port of Montreal and our boxes hadn't left.
We were then asked to sign a piece of paper stating that there were two additional boxes with our shipment. We had packed and labeled each box ourselves and we had a detailed list of each box and content. We were told that our belongings would not be shipped unless we agreed to sign a form stating the amended number of boxes.
Once our shipment arrived in France, our. belongings were then held to ransom. Apparently, the initial quote did not allow for their 'pallet' measurements and we were asked to pay an additional $1700CAD because our shipment of 6 cubic metres suddenly became a total of 10 cubic metres. We were told that, if the amount was not paid by the time our stuff cleared customs, then it would be stored at the port, at our expense.
Once our belongings cleared customs and we had paid the 'ransom fee', we then had to wait an additional 3 weeks for our stuff to be delivered.
This is our second transatlantic move, the first time we used a FRENCH company and they were amazing and we paid exactly the amount on the quote, not a cent more.
With this company, you will be passed from pillar to post, your beloings will arrive broken (we had many items smashed, some of which are bespoke and irreplaceable and we were tremendously thorough with our packing). Overall our belongings took 22 weeks to get from our home in Canada to France. Oh and the two extra boxes? They were not part of our shipment, so we have no idea why we were asked to sign a piece of paper to amend the number of boxes.
Overall a very upsetting and distressing experience. Moving is stressful enough as it is and moving companies are supposed to help take away some of the stress.Read more
